It’s that time of year again and Reclamation Reform Act (RRA) forms must be completed before 2025 water deliveries. Forms are required from all landholders (owners and operators) who hold (own or lease) over 240 acres and from all public entities that hold (own or lease) over 40 acres. Although district staff will be glad to assist you, it is your responsibility to know the law and comply with the forms’ requirements.

Trusts:
If you own or lease land through a trust and have not completed forms, please notify the office as soon as possible. This is important whether the trust agreement has been recorded or not. Trusts are treated differently than other landholdings under RRA, so it is imperative that you disclose information about any trust relative to your operation.
Leases:
The law requires that leases be in writing and include the effective date, end date, and cannot exceed ten years. Leases must also include a legal description and the signatures of all parties to the lease.
All:
The Bureau audits all forms we have on file. Please take extra care when completing your forms. An administrative fee of $240 can be assessed to the Patron by Reclamation for form errors, which can affect eligibility for water in future years.
It is important for all landholders to complete their forms early. If you would like help completing the forms, please call for an appointment; office staff may not always be available for walk ins. Remember to bring any lease dates, tax identification numbers and trust agreements, as they may be needed.

Water will not be delivered until 24 hours after all appropriate forms are filed, so please submit your forms early. Forms turned in Friday will be eligible for Monday delivery.
